What you'll learn
Every subject has those ideas which students regularly confuse - radius and diameter, animal cells and plant cells, past and present tenses etc. This is an ever-present challenge in teaching, so what can we do about it?
Interleaving has been presented as one possible solution to this issue. Instead of teaching one concept before moving onto another, and another etc., interleaving involves presenting two or more related but distinct concepts at the same time, in a random order.
It was whilst studying for his Masters that Singh first came across interleaving and he has since been reading everything he can get his hands on about it to try and figure out: what actually is interleaving? And how can it be used effectively with students?
This webinar will explore why interleaving can work and what effective uses of interleaving can look like to help prevent misconceptions in our subjects. The session will allow you to explore interleaving and give you concrete examples to take away.

Performance and Learning
"I taught them this last week so why can’t they do it now?’ is a thought I’m sure all tutors have had at some point; I certainly have across my time teaching and tutoring. The problem. . . they forget things. . . we forget things . . . everyone forgets things.
